You are welcome in our treatment room in Lagoa de Albufeira, Sesimbra, Portugal.
If you live in the Sesimbra region, I can also come to you.

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu (meaning “finger pressure”) is a Japanese therapy that uses techniques like pressure, mobilisations and stretching to reduce tension and reenergise the body.

Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and the concept of meridians (energy lines running through the body), Shiatsu aims to restore harmony in the body energy flow (called “Qi”). Disruption in this flow means that certain areas are saturated whilst others are deprived from energy, leading to various illnesses and discomforts.

Although the effects of Shiatsu vary from individual to individual, it commonly calms the nervous system, stimulates the circulation of blood and lymph, relieves muscle tension, improve mobility and help digestion, leaving you more relaxed as well as more energised.

What to expect?

Each session begins with a chat to understand your needs and specify the intention of the session. You’ll be invited to lie down in comfortable clothing on the mat and relax for the treatment. At the end of the session, you’ll be given some time to “come back” at your own rhythm and share your sensations if you’d like to. You might feel some effects from the massage for 24 to 48 hours. It is best not to plan any activity or meal that is too demanding on your body the same day.
